Let's get real.

Today I'm going to be talking about insecurities.
I know, I know.
Why in the world would I want to talk about that?!
Well, we all have them. Yes ALL of us, so why not talk about it?

I'll go ahead and admit that I HATE my skin.
hate, hate, hate, HATE IT.

Got it? Good.
All of you with naturally flawless glowing skin,
you can go ahead & punch yourself in the face,
Because I am extremely jealous of you.

Okay so anyways, what made me want to write about this?

I have always thought that actress Annalynne McCord was PERFECTTT.
If you don't know who she is, here's a picture for ya!

News flash, she's not perfect.
Just like every other celebrity/human being in the world.

I was doing a little harmless stalking & came across this photo that she posted on twitter.

Um, can you say BRAVE?!
She posted this picture of herself saying,
"I woke up this morning and decided that I'm over Hollywoods perfection requirement. To all my girls (and boys) who have ever been embarrassed by their skin! I salute you! I'm not perfect and that's okay with me"
I think the fact that I can relate to her "imperfection" so much is why
I wanted to talk about this.

Whether it's skin issues, body issues, or personality issues.
We ALL have issues!
Haha.

I think it's so easy to constantly compare ourselves to others.
Whether it's celebrities, friends, or even family members.
We need to embrace the beauty and talent that God gave US as individuals.
Now don't get me wrong, I need to practice what I preach.
But this is something that I am working on,
so I figured maybe I could help all of you in the process!

Well, that's all for today!
<3
Hope all of you have an awesome dayyy!

  4. Awesome awesome post! Insecurities suck and the 'normal gorgeous' is soooo fake! I get so made when I try to compare myself to others, but I still do it.

Someone is always prettier, smarter and luckier, so we need to realize how blessed we are. That doesn't mean we can't be insecure, because hello, we are women. Rather, we need to embrace some of the insecurities and ROCK what we think is awesome about ourselves!! Great post MONICA!!! xoxo

  12. I am in the same boat you are. There are certain things I LOVE about myself and certain things I don't. However, I am also trying to work on things and do things to better myself and get my confident up there. When looking at your pictures though I am always like...wow she is sooo pretty wish I looked like her! Haha so we are all alike in that we feel that way. However, it was brave of Miss McCord to post that and more power to her!!

    :)
    Love,

  14. Get it girl! I'm definitely in the same boat. I was in a relationship for 5.5 years that made my super self-conscious and pick apart every aspect of myself. I know, I know, it was stupid to stay that long, but I was young and dumb :) It's been a long road trying to get back to feeling good about myself, and I still have a long way to go. It's hard to feel beautiful when society expects us to look a certain way. Nobody is perfect but we're all beautiful! Here's to us embracing our beautiful selves :)

  16. I needed to hear this! I absolutely hate my skin too. Even my daughter asks me what those "boo boo's" are on my face. :( This is very inspirational to know that even "perfect" people, aren't perfect! Thanks for sharing!
