Lets talk about food...and skincare...and my boutique.

Before I get started, Go buy one of these dresses!!!!

As you all know, I enjoy food.
Eating is probably one of my favorite things to do.

But the bad part is...
I enjoy junk food, & greasy food, & salty food.
And A LOT of it.

Ever since I've moved back home i've noticed that my skin is different.
In a bad, bad way.
At first I blamed it on the humidity.
But then I thought about it and I did used to live here for 17 years and this didnt happen then.

So, I finally got to thinking about what I'm doing different here than what I did in San Antonio.
Ding, Ding, Ding I'm fat & lazy.
Okay, okay, relax I know I'm not fat!
But the way I've been eating I deserve to be.

Anyways,
My skin has been breaking out a lot more than normal,
and I've even been getting break outs on my body, gross.
[which never used to happen]

So I've come to the conclusion that it must be from my lack of exercising,
and my horrible diet.
Sweat is good for your skin, and I barely work out anymore, and if I do
it's for 5 minutes. Also, my diet is absolutely horrific.
I barely eat any fruits & vegetables and chips are my main food source.
Don't hate.

I NEVER used to eat like this in San Antonio,
mainly because I wouldnt have it around my apartment so I wouldnt go grab it.
The problem is, even when I get good food in the house all of the bad stuff is still here
and I still tend to grab the chips, & cookies over the fruits.

I know I've talked about this multiple times before,
But obviously it's still a problem.
I could easily go get my own place and fix this, I mean I can afford it right now
but I think it would be silly because I would have to come home every day
because my boutique would still be at my parents house.

Well with all of that being said...
I'm going to TRY and start eating better & exercising more regularly.
Not so I will look super hott (that's just a bonus)
but so that my skin will benefit from it.
So here's what I need all of you to tell me...

What are your favorite healthy snacks?
What's your favorite type of fish and how do you cook it? (PLEASE TEACH ME!)
What vitamins do you suggest for better skin?

That's it! Answer those 3 questions for me and I will be your bestie for life.
<3

Why cant everyone just be born with flawless skin like this?

  1. My fave snack, which can sometimes substitute for a small lunch is almonds, sliced Colby jack cheese, sliced apple and wheat thins! Salmon is stupid easy (and quick) to fix (I usually do it in the toaster oven, no joke). Google has a ton if yummy salmon recipes!

  2. Tilapia is easy! I just season it with whatever spices I feel like then bake it in the oven on 400 for about 15 minutes.

  3. I am FAR from a healthy snacker, but I DO like almonds and grapes and find if I keep them around I'm less likely to reach for chips! Salmon is super yum, and easy (my fave? sautee a handful of spinach with garlic and olive oil. toss that on the salmon, I sometimes add ricotta cheese, bake it all at 350 for 15 min) and we really like tuna too - just sear on med/high heat on the stovetop in a nonstick/greased skillet until it's however done you like in the middle. MMM!

  6. I eat every 3-4 hours during the work day and I try to keep it healthy so I have "good" energy to get me through and I don't crash. In the morning, I snack on greek yogurt. Chobani is my favorite and all greek yogurt is loaded with protein. Then even though I go out for lunch, I try for something protein loaded. I bought walmart brand "Snack bags" which are less than half the size of sandwich bags and I measure out a serving of trail mix every day for a snack. Almonds are great too but I don't love them.

Drinking more water is also my solution to everything. Seriously just drink it all evening if you're gonna be sitting around the house then you won't feel awkward about getting up every 15min to pee. I also recommend a regular multivitamin and fish oil. I'm not convinced on biotin but idk it probably doesn't hurt.

  7. Some of my favorite snacks are apples and peanut butter, bananas and peanut butter, celery and peanut butter (are you seeing a theme? Peanut butter is packed with protein!), lightly salted almonds, and any type of fruit that is easy to throw in a little snack bag - grapes, strawberries, oranges.
For fish we usually choose Tilapia or Salmon. It's easy to season with fresh herbs.
I also drink vanilla protein shakes with fruit and take women's daily multivitamins (both I purchase from Arbonne).

  9. First of all, you look GREAT! You are making a very good decision to eat differently. Over time (I am much older than you), your skin can develop autoimmune disease from eating foods that cause inflammation.

  10. Girl i'm right there with you. I barely ever exercise. I get into a routine but then stop for weeks on end. And on top of that, I eat the crappiest food ever. I'm always eating out and eating candy, chips, you name it!
