Fancy Schmancy.

For fancy night on the cruise I decided to wear this little yellow number from LuLus!
The necklace is from Pree Brûlée (really old) and it's kind of perfect.

(most awkward tan line ever)
Buy this Dress !

I'm really wishing we were back on the ship...
Of course I love being home but I LOVED dressing up every night
and soaking up the sun with no cares during the day.

Could that top be any more adorable?!
Both top and bottoms are from Victorias Secret.
The bottoms are super old, and they don't have the top available in blue anymore,
but you can purchase it in this precious leopard print here .

So obviously I still have more pictures to share from the cruise,
but on another topic....
Kyle and I joined a kickball league!
Haha, our first game is Thursday and I'm really hoping and praying I don't embarrass myself.
I mean I played sports in high school...and I like to think I'm pretty athletic.
Buttttttt It's been a while since I've played kickball...
Fingers crossed I don't break an ankle.

Cruisin' the Gulf.

Things have been quiet over here,
and that's because this girl went on a much needed CRUISE to Mexico!

We got on the ship about 2pm on Monday and I didnt waste any time putting on my bikini.
I knew that it would probably rain the majority of the cruise so I took advantage of
all of the sunshine I could get!

Top: Windsor Store (similar)
Maxi Skirt: LuLus.com

It was my parents, my sister and brother in law, and Kyle and I that went!
We've been going on a "family vacation" the past few years now,
last year we went on this same exact cruise and had so much fun that we booked it again!
It was a 5 day cruise that goes to Progresso and Cozumel,
I know Progresso isn't known for being the greatest place but hey it's still a vacation!!

Getting off the boat to head to an all inclusive beach in Progresso!

I was much happier on the way back...thanks to unlimited chips and drinks.

I'll be sharing more of our cruise tomorrow!!

Happy Monday y'all!

Computer Crashes and a Sick Pup.

It has been one heck of a week!
On Monday morning my laptop just completely shut down, wouldn't turn on, wouldn't do anything.
Which made Monday very difficult.
Tuesday was spent driving all over town trying to get it fixed.
And yesterday Charley was throwing up ALL day long, it broke my heart.
She was feeling absolutely terrible,
I took her to the vet but they couldn't figure out what was wrong.
They took x rays but couldn't see anything weird in her tummy,
gave her 2 injections, some meds for me to give her daily, and some special food.

I finally got her home and she was still throwing up, she looked so sad and miserable
all day and night, and it kills me to see her like that.
She's got a little more energy today and finally drank some water,
I still can't get her to eat though.
So keep this sweet pup in your prayers!

I am beyond thankful they didn't find anything crazy in her tummy,
and I am really grateful she doesn't have some awful disease or sickness.
She must be allergic to something she ate.
Really hoping she starts feeling better soon!

Who's excited that it's Thursday?!
The weekend is upon usssssssssssss!!!!

Meeting the Boss Man.

Blouse: ShopMCE.com [old]
Necklace: ShopMCE.com
Jeans: Paige Denim via Nordstrom
Wedges: LuLus.com

Monday night Kyle brought me to one of my VERY first "family work events"
I'm not going to lie I was a little nervous to meet his boss, why you ask?! No clue.
I'm always nervous.

Another company invited Kyle's boss (& family) and Kyle (& family) to an astros game!
So Kyle and his boss were the only ones from Kyle's company,
everyone else was from the company hosting it.
I think I get nervous because I still feel like I'm 18...
And I don't work in the business world...I work in the fashion world...
Which is SO completely different than the business world.

I told myself not to worry, I'm sure I'm going to be the "cool wife" that owns a business...
First wife I meet... "Hi! I'm a foot & ankle surgeon"
shit.

Needless to say I had the nervous sweats for the first hour...
But after that it was pretty fun!
I realized that everyone was super normal and cool,
even the surgeon wife that intimidated the crap out of me.
I had about 4 plates of nachos, and 2 jack & cokes and I was feeling like myself in no time!

We stayed for a few hours and talked and talked and talked...
and I ate...A LOT.
We finally left close to 10pm and Kyle said he was really proud of me.
Haha! He knows I get nervous in those situations.

I'm so glad I got to meet his boss though!
It was nice to finally put a face to a name and his wife and kids are just too adorable.

Maybe one day I'll introduce Kyle to my boss....
Just kidding, that's me. I'm the boss.
Thank God, I do NOT miss having someone tell me what to do.

Happy Hump Day y'all!!!
I think I'll do a butt work out in honor of hump day.

I can finally walk after 3 days of misery,
it does feel good to have sore muscles though!

Sweaters and Sore Muscles.

Skirt: WindsorStore.com [sold out]
Clutch: ShopMCE.com
Sandals: LuLus.com

I got this sweater in on Friday (also comes in black) and I just couldn't wait to wear it!
It is the softest material EVER, and super cute!
This is the one bad thing about being a Boutique Owner...
You literally want to keep EVERY thing that comes in!

Saturday, after spending the entire day on the couch watching a new show on netflix
I decided Kyle should take me to dinner, I was nice and paid.

We went to one of Kyles all time favorites, ShoGun.
It's one of those Japanese places where they cook in front of you!

The food was incredible, as always,
and even though we've been there a hundred times it's always just as entertaining.

On a different note...
I've worked out consistently for 4 days straight!!
I can barely walk y'all....
I found the lovely Sophie, from Way of Gray a while back,
and actually used to do some of her work outs before the wedding!

Well, I have no idea why I stopped.
I bought another one of her Ebooks and have been doing it for 4 days
and holy crap.
My triceps, calves, quads, and chest are DYING, and I love it.

She is such an amazing girl, and super motivating!
I'm sure I'll end up buying ALL of her Ebooks just because I love the work outs so much,
and they are SUPER effective.
Oh and they are only $10...you really can't beat that.

Hope all of you have a good Monday!

xoxo, Monica

(This was not a sponsored post, I'm just sharing my personal opinion of Way of Gray's work outs!)

A Puppy Play Date.

Yesterday my (soon to be, hopefully) sister in law asked if I could baby sit her puppy!
Her puppys name is Grayson, and Charley and Grayson are the best of friends.
So of course I said yes!

Not only do these pups love each other,
but their energy is endless.
They literally NEVER stop, ever.
Needless to say, I'm exhausted.

They sure were cute though!
The day began with a few tricks and a few treats.

and a whole lot of running.

It's been SUPER hot and SUPER humid here in Houston,
so after about 10 minutes of playing outside they would beg for some AC.

So I'd let them in, and they'd take about a 5 minute break..

Then they were ready to go again!

After watching them suffer in the heat for about an hour I decided to be the "cool aunt"
and whip out the kiddie pool.

Charley didn't even wait for me to fill it up to jump in,
she is obsessed with the water...
Grayson took a little convincing, but they both loved it!

They had soooo much fun together all day!
This was a good reminder of why I don't need another dog though...
I always think I want one, but holy cow they are a handful.

Thank God it's Friday,
Have a great weekend y'all!

Red Lips and Camo for the win.

Dress: LuLus.com
Camo Button Up: Forever 21 (old)
Wedges: LuLus.com

So, I titled this "Red Lips & Camo for the win",
even though I immediately wiped the red lipstick off after these pics were taken.
I always see girls rocking red lipstick and looking adorable.
I'm super jealous of those girls that can wear it and still look pretty casual.
I, on the other hand...felt like a complete clown.
I honestly couldn't decide if I was going to re-take these pictures or not,
but of course I was too lazy and somewhat in a hurry so I opted out.

One of my best friends (Maggie) recently moved back to Houston so we decided to have
a girls night/happy hour/catch up session at one of our favorite restaurants!
Liz, Maggie and I met at Cyclone Anaya's in midtown and talked a whole lot,
and laughed until we cried.
Girls nights are everything.
Date nights with Kyle, and double dates are pretty awesome too.
But girls nights always leave me feeling really happy,
maybe it's just the margaritas...
But I sure am thankful for my girlfriends!

Happy Hump Day!!
I think I'll do some squats today in order to work off
all the cheese I've devoured these past few days!

Speaking of squats I'm going to start posting more about my personal
"fitness and nutrition" routines so be on the look out!!

A Weekend Outdoors.

This past weekend a group of us headed to the Valley for some dove hunting!
We go every year, and I was so excited to bring Charley along this time!!
She had WAY too much fun being able to run around freely and get as dirty as she wanted.
It was kind of the cutest thing ever.

How perfect would this family photo have been if Charley was looking?!

It was SO hot all weekend but it was also a ton of fun!
I ate way too much mexican food and loved every minute of it.

Here's a picture of the whole gang!

Hope everyone else had as good of a weekend as I did!!

xoxo, Monica
