Sunday Celebrations

This Sunday was spent celebrating one of my very best friends engagements!!
Kyle and I spent the morning being lazy and then headed over to Claires parents place around 3.
As soon as I got there I was gifted with a VERY pleasant surprise.

She asked me to be her Matron of Honor and I could NOT be more excited!!

I love this girl with my whole heart, she has been SUCH a good friend to me,
and I'm so thankful to have her in my life!

The day was spent sipping on sangria and chatting with Claire's closest friends and family.

Weekend Shenanigans.

Top: Urban Outfitters [similar]

Necklace: ShopMCE

Now that we moved a little North we are WAY closer to my sister and brother in law,
and we get to see them way more often which is a MAJOR plus!

Kyle and I had been planning on having a date night Friday
and then my brother in law texted me asking if we all wanted to get together
for dinner and margaritas!
Well, DUH!

[typical photo...gotta love him]

So a double date night it was!!

I'm going to be REAL honest for a minute and y'all can judge all you want...
because hell, I would judge too.

So there were 4 of us total...
we ordered THREE large quesos and devoured every single one before the night ended!!!!
Of course we didn't order them all at once...
hahaha oh my gosh we were all in shock and so grossed out with ourselves at the end of the night.
The waiter was definitely confused and probably a tad worried.
I think it's safe to say I won't be craving queso for a while!

My body was not too thrilled with my food choices this weekend
and I'm going to be at a beach all day Friday and Saturday so i'm thinking
about doing a little "3 day quick start" tomorrow!
It actually came with the program i'm already doing!
[you can ask me about it here > Monica.Kaase@gmail.com]

My friend Jamie and I (that I met through Beach Body) are planning on doing it together,
so that'll definitely help having someone else keep me accountable!

What are everyones plans for the 4th?!

An Extra Spacial Fathers Day

Dress: ShopMCE
Ear Rings: Sam Moon

This Fathers Day was extra special for my family.

We didn't just get to celebrate this amazing man standing in between us.
But we also got to celebrate the amazing men we love and miss that are now in Heaven.

My cousin Jack came into town so it felt like my Uncle was here with us,
and it was SO awesome talking about old memories.
My Mamaw was also there which helped us celebrate the life of our sweet Papaw.

We all went out to lunch and had the best conversations and stories,
The day honestly couldn't have been better, and I am SO grateful that I have
so many amazing men in my life to celebrate.

Happy Friday Y'all.

xoxo Monica

Day In the Country 2015

Like I said...this weekend was one for the books!

Saturday a bunch of us went to A Day in The Country at the Woodlands Pavillion,
it may or may not be my favorite time of year!

A Day In the Country is just what is sounds like...A day full of amazing country artists!

Tank: Brandy Melville (similar)
Vest: Urban Outfitters (similar)
Boots: Justin Brand via Cavenders (similar)

The concert is an all day thing but we decided to all meet up and hang out for a while,
then show up to the concert later in the day when our favorite artists would be performing!

We all met up and Kyle's aunts house for a few hours to eat, drink, and hang out.
Then we headed out to a bar for a little pre-concert fun/booze.

It was kind of the best day ever...

Why do weekends have to end?!

Margaritas and Country Dancin'

This weekend was definitely one for the books.

Friday night we celebrated [Kyles cousin] Corey's 29th birthday!

And hereeeeee is my outfit of choice for the evening...

Top: ShopMCE
Jeans: Paige Denim via Nordstrom
Boots: Justin Brand via Cavenders

A bunch of family and friends all met at a Alicia's Mexican Grill to celebrate.

And then most of us headed out to Big Texas for a little dancin'!

Kyle and I MAJORLY need some dance lessons haha
Both of us are pretty athletic but we are the absolute worst dancers EVER.
But of course we still have a blast doing it!

Pretty sure a big group of us are going to go get some lessens somewhere
in the near future!

Sheesh, this weekend was SO awesome but went by way too fast.
Definitely not ready to take on today and my never ending to do list :(

But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Happy Monday!

Stomach Bugs and Slumber Parties

I woke up Saturday in the WORST pain ever.
Kyle was out of town and I had no clue what was going on with my body.
Well apparently, I has a stomach bug, and this was my first one EVER!

Needless to say I felt like I was dying and was extremely dramatic,
and had no one to comfort me but charley.

Here she is checking to see if I have a fever...

I felt SO bad because my girlfriend Skye and I had been planning a girls night.
Thank God I started feeling better later in the afternoon and the
slumber party was still a GO!

Skye had to work a wedding that evening so she dropped her pup, Grayson,
off so her and Charley could get all their hyperness out.
(just kidding their energy is endless)

Once the wedding was over she came back to pick me up so we could go grab some junk food!
I mean, what's a slumber party without junk food and wine?!
(wine was already fully stocked at the house)

Skye had this genius idea of bringing some arts and crafts,
I seriously felt like I was in junior high all over again and loved every minute of it.

She saw this adorable art inspiration on pinterest and of course ours was a fail...
ONLY because we had the wrong glue though!

I'm planning on finishing mine this weekend and can't wait to show y'all the final result!

Arts & Crafts were accompanied by a ridiculous amount of girl talk and junk food.

And the night just kept getting more interesting...
Our plan was to watch a chick flick, but that didn't exactly happen.

Kyle and I use someone else's netflix account.
In college this guy gave us his info so we could use it,
and well we've just been taking advantage of it ever since!

Skye and I get on and start searching for a chick flick but ALL we can find
are these weird, sexual, crazy movies and TV shows...
Therefore this kid we used to know must have had some kind of weird netflix binger.

We literally scrolled through row after row and couldn't find anything normal,
so we settled and decided to watch one of these weird shows..
hahaha oh goodness talk about WEIRDEST movie ever.
It was called Wetlands, and I definitely DO NOT recommend it.

We couldn't help but laugh the entire time because it was so bizarre and uncomfortable.
We definitely ended up falling asleep and not finishing it.
(not mad about that)

All 4 of us hopped into bed but the pups decided they weren't ready yet.
Which resulted in us in separate rooms.

I'd say girls night was definitely interesting and definitely a success.

Happy Tuesday!

xoxo Monica

Caught Up.

Today [Friday] I'm feeling regretful.

It's so easy to get ridiculously caught up in life.
Caught up in work, social media, tv shows, bills, laundry, cleaning the house...
Kyle left this weekend to go to the Valley to play in a golf tournament.
Which left me here alone...thinking about us and our relationship and our life together.
and now I'm realizing how much I miss having him here by me...

But it's not just that.
I miss sitting by each other and really BEING with each other.
Not looking at our phones with our minds in completely separate places...

Kyle used to travel for work pretty often so this isn't the first weekend i've spent at the house alone,
but for some reason this time I really got to thinking...

Why don't I put my phone away once Kyle gets home from work?
Why don't I cherish these little moments we still have as kidless newlyweds?
Why don't I unplug and really give him the attention and love that I want him to feel?
Maybe I needed this time alone to really realize that things need to change.

Kyle and I have been together since the very beginning of college.
We were 18...babies.
And we've been madly in love ever since.
Yes we are newlyweds,
but sometimes it doesn't feel that way since we've been together for SO long.

It's time for me as a wife to GET IT TOGETHER.
Time to work hard on my businesses during the day...
get the laundry and cleaning done during the day...
and be PRESENT when Kyle's home.

I'm so lucky and grateful to have a husband like him
and I can't imagine doing life with anyone else.

Cheers to more real time, laughs & cuddles.
I'm off to go get things done so I can spoil my husband this evening!

xoxo, Monica

Dirty Thirty.

Jeans: Cotton On [similar]
Heels: LuLus

Last weekend my brother in law [Jonathan] turned 30!
Therefore my sister and his friends put together a fabulous Dirty Thirty party for him....

In the sketchiest event center that Houston has to offer.

HAHA. Y'all it looked SO shady, but it was actually super awesome.

Jonathans friends took the liberty in making
this wonderful welcoming photo when you first walked in.

The party ended up being a BLAST, like one of the best birthdays I've ever been too.
Kyle and I didnt really know the majority of the people so Tara let me invite my bestie and her fiancé.

Obviously, she's my best friend.

I took WAY too many photos and videos that night.
I'm sure you felt like you were part of the action if you follow me on snapchat ha.

Can't believe how old we're all getting, goodness gracious I still feel like i'm 18.
