Wife Life.

Y’all….I am exhausted.

How come no one ever told me how tiring it is to be a wife?

AND the mother to a crazy pup?

Like MAJOR props to all you stay at home moms,

because Lord knows you don’t just chill all day

snacking on cheetos and watching real housewives.

I’m not exactly a stay at home mom because I own a business where I WORK from home,

and I don’t have any children.

But I DO have a 10 week old puppy which can be the same as having a 2 yr old at times.

Now don’t get me wrong I am in LOVE with being a wife.

It’s actually a lot of fun,

you get to have sleep overs with your best friend (that’s super hott) every night!

it’s not ALL fun and games, especially when you realize that groceries triple in cost,

laundry doubles, and the cleaning NEVER ends.

But it’s all worth it.

I really can’t complain at all, my husband surprised me with the most adorable puppy

that I have been BEGGING him for this past year.

She can be SUCH a pain, and she is SO much work,

but she is so freaking cute it kills me.

She’ll bite the crap out of me and ruin something I love and

then go do something so sweet and innocent

like chase a butterfly around outside with the biggest puppy smile

and my heart just melts.

She’s definitely got me wrapped around her little puppy paw.

Is it just me or do most people gain weight at the beginning of marriage?

I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much in my life…

Kyle is ALWAYS hungry, and I’m not kidding when I say always.

We’ll have a HUGE meal and literally, LITERALLY one hour later he’s starving again.

I feel like I’m gaining sympathy weight, like you know when guys gain weight when their wife is pregnant….

Except it’s the opposite and no ones pregnant, I’m just gluttonous.

Lord help me…

Everyone keeps telling me that having this little pup is GREAT training for a real baby,

is that true? or do people just say that?

moms??

I have been stick thin my entire life. Except for the first year after I got married. I was the heaviest I've ever been in my entire life. I don't know if it was the marriage thing. The depression from living 6 hours away from anyone I cared about. The fact that I managed a cupcake shop (okay, yeah, it was probably that one)–but I gained weight. A ton of it. I also think I spent our entire first year in the kitchen and doing laundry. I don't know how that happened. I promise you–it balances out! Oh, and you'll get a grip on the feeding the glutton. I'm married to one, too. It takes some managing and balancing and figuring out–but you'll get it! Promise!

I totally gained so much weight when my fiance and I moved in. On top of eating more, he was totally used to a lifestyle of eating out and while that wasn't my everyday – I can't deny that shit. #piggy But now that it's been over a year, things are more under control and he understands that sometimes I will just eat a salad for dinner & he can do whatever he wants. I found it really helpful to keep (even more) leftovers and sandwich basics on hand to avoid ordering food when that happens!

Try getting your puppy a Kong! Fill it with peanut butter, freeze it, and she'll be a totally happy angel. I I nterned at a shelter for 2 years and observed and experienced a lot of puppy work. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at shelbyfaithward@gmail.com. If I don't have the answer, I know people who will. 🙂

I gained like 7 pounds the first year of marriage because there was deployment, semi-depression, and living so far from home. Since then, I found that working out was a great way to cope with such things so it all evened out. Give it a few months!
And I don't care what parents say: having a puppy is definitely a lot of work!

Haha!!!! I think everyone gains weight when they get married!!! My husband says his weight gain is because I'm such a good cook. And I blame him cause he's always eating and I feel like I should be too?! And I'm not even sure why?
But the whole puppy thing….I have a 17yr old boy, 4yr old little girl, 1yr old puppy & 2 10month old kittens!!! :/ I think puppies are harder than babies!!! You strap then in a seat! You can't put them in a diaper! And technically they never grow up!!!!
Good luck girl! It does get easier!…..when they are 2!
