I’m actually kind of upset about these pictures…

and REALLY debated on whether I was going to share this outfit with y’all or not.

I’m obsessed with the outfit, loved it, Kyle loved it, I mean it was great.

HOWEVER, do you ever just have one of those days where you can’t seem to take a decent picture?

Like no matter how hard you try, how many different poses you try…

Nothing seems to be working for you.

Well I was VERY MUCH having one of those days.

The outfit was so much cuter in person, and I hate my face in every photo.

But hey, such is life.

On Sunday we made a little day trip to Austin to spend time with Kyles dads side of the family!

We got there and his Aunt Sue had THE most delicious lunch waiting for us.

She had this amazinggggg fruit salad that I’m definitely going to need to make soon,

Don’t worry, I’ll get the recipe and be sure to share it with y’all 😉

After lunch we did everything we could to get the boys eyes off the football games.

And we were quite successful.

Kyle’s family is all about games and I kind of love it,

We played Taboo, some card games, and some quarters games!

and yours truly won herself $15 LOL Couldn’t take too much of the fams money 😉

I kind of don’t believe that tomorrow is already New Years Eve,

Like where the heck has the time gone?!

We don’t have any set plans yet but i’m sure we’ll be going downtown somewhere.

I got myself a sparkly little number from LuLus this year

and I’m really hoping it’s as cute as I think it’s going to be.

Guess we’ll find out tomorrow!

Happy Hump Day y’all.

The weather has been pretty much awful lately,

However a cold front FINALLY came through yesterday.

Over Christmas it was around 80 degrees, cloudy, and super humid…

Unfortunately that weather leads to crappy outfit pictures because lighting is kind of everything.

But hey, it’s better than nothin’!

I die over these leggings.

They are THE softest material, and THE perfect amount of sparkle.

The photos above don’t really do them justice because of the lighting,

but this one does a pretty good job.

My sister, brother in law, Kyle and I hopped in the car on the morning of Christmas Eve

and all headed over to my parents house!

We got there around noon and snacked on all of moms delicious brunch foods,

got caught up in each others lives and then it was time for…

PREZZZEEENNTTZZZZZ.

I have to say, my sister won the award for most creative/accurate gift.

HA, definitely wasn’t expecting to unwrap the “shitfaced/poop swirl/shithead” emoji.

Does anyone know what this emoji really means anyways? or is it just all of the above?

My parents definitely outdid themselves this Christmas [as they always do]

But forget about the gifts, I’m most grateful for family and the time we get to spend together.

After gifts, we had some delicious lunch and then headed to church together.

It was a perfect day spent celebrating Jesus’ birthday.

This weekend I did something that I’ve been wanting to do for 5 years now.

5 years ago my uncle tragically passed away.

It was by far one of the hardest things I have ever been through in my entire life,

If not the hardest.

He meant more to me than he will ever know and I miss him & think about him every single day.

Tattoos are permanent and I am very aware of that,

I want nothing more than a beautiful reminder that my Uncle is always here with me.

[It says, I carry your heart with me]

Friday night my best friend Claire and I headed to Prison Break Tattoos

in hopes that I would be getting my very first tattoo!

I knew exactly where and what I wanted, but of course was absolutely terrified.

We walked in and everyone there was SO friendly and helpful and made me feel super comfortable.

I told them exactly what I wanted and we went through some different font options,

only took me about 3 minutes to decide on one, and holy crap was I excited.

Before I knew it I was laying on the table with little needles shooting ink into the skin on my spine.

Now, I’m going to admit that it DID hurt, however not near as bad as I was expecting.

I did a lot of googling beforehand and totally freaked myself out,

like almost to the point where I didnt go through with it.

Everywhere I looked said that your spine is THE most painful spot,

Also, when I walked into the parlor and told them where I wanted it, they were like..

“You want it on your spine and this is your FIRST tattoo?! Wellp, go big or go home I guess”

Since I was expecting it to be SO awful, I think I was surprised at how not awful it was,

if that even makes any sense? haha

It was definitely uncomfortable and there were some parts that hurt like heck,

but Ivan did such an incredible job and really made it THE best experience for me.

I am SO in love with my new tattoo and so happy I finally did it.

I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart, I am never without it.

Anywhere I go you go, my dear.

Kyle and I had a VERY uneventful weekend,

we’ve been watching Lost and holy cow we are ADDICTED.

We’re on the 5th season and things are getting SO good and crazy…

Needless to say all last weekend was spent on the couch being worthless,

so we finally got dressed and ventured out Sunday evening for a little date night at Chuys.

Our waitress was seriously something else.

I LOVE when we get waitresses/waiters that are a little different,

it always makes date night way more interesting.

As soon as we got there she looked at me and said,

“WELL, don’t you look like you just hopped straight out of a magazine!”

haha well thank ya ma’am!

Not gonna lie, I questioned this outfit for a few minutes before leaving the house, but hey I went with it and it’s actually one of my favorites now, and I’ll definitely be repeating!

Our waitress was very talkative and had no shame when it came to asking us questions…

She asked if we had any romantic plans after dinner, how many pets and what kind, when are we going to have kids, how long have we been married, how old are we, told me I should wait until at least 32 to get pregnant (HA!)

I could go on and on…

it’s people like this that I genuinely enjoy in life,

people that are open and want to get to know you just for fun,

I could tell she was asking questions because she genuinely cared and was curious,

not just to make conversation and get a better tip.

I hope that this next year I’m more like her…

Not always so worried what people think of me,

Genuinely ask questions & get to know people no matter where I am,

Take a step back from my phone and engage in conversation w/ strangers,

Find the good in everyone…really everyone,

Collect moments and memories and not things.

Happy Friday,
