Hill Country Love

Y’all, a cold front finally came through!
Just in time for us to attend an outdoor wedding.

LOL
The wedding was absolutely STUNNING, but holy crap it was C O L D.

I can’t complain at all about this weekend though.

My sister in laws – boyfriends – family has a beautiful house on Canyon Lake and

let us stay there while we were in town for the wedding.

The Hill Country will always have a very special place in my heart.
It’s where Kyle and I met, and where the majority of our “story” took place.
It’s the place that holds all of the special memories I have of my uncle who has passed.
It’s the place that helped shape me into the woman I am today.
Needless to say, it was so nice to be back even though it was just for a day.

Happy Tuesday!

In loving memory.

This weekend I did something that I’ve been wanting to do for 5 years now.

5 years ago my uncle tragically passed away.

It was by far one of the hardest things I have ever been through in my entire life,

If not the hardest.

He meant more to me than he will ever know and I miss him & think about him every single day.

Tattoos are permanent and I am very aware of that,

I want nothing more than a beautiful reminder that my Uncle is always here with me.

[It says, I carry your heart with me]

Friday night my best friend Claire and I headed to Prison Break Tattoos

in hopes that I would be getting my very first tattoo!

I knew exactly where and what I wanted, but of course was absolutely terrified.

We walked in and everyone there was SO friendly and helpful and made me feel super comfortable.

I told them exactly what I wanted and we went through some different font options,

only took me about 3 minutes to decide on one, and holy crap was I excited.

Before I knew it I was laying on the table with little needles shooting ink into the skin on my spine.

Now, I’m going to admit that it DID hurt, however not near as bad as I was expecting.

I did a lot of googling beforehand and totally freaked myself out,

like almost to the point where I didnt go through with it.

Everywhere I looked said that your spine is THE most painful spot,

Also, when I walked into the parlor and told them where I wanted it, they were like..

“You want it on your spine and this is your FIRST tattoo?! Wellp, go big or go home I guess”

Since I was expecting it to be SO awful, I think I was surprised at how not awful it was,

if that even makes any sense? haha

It was definitely uncomfortable and there were some parts that hurt like heck,

but Ivan did such an incredible job and really made it THE best experience for me.

I am SO in love with my new tattoo and so happy I finally did it.

I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart, I am never without it.

Anywhere I go you go, my dear.
