Behind the scenes with Lentille Photography

I am super excited to share a little behind the scenes action of our newbown/family shoot we did last week!
I have a feeling y’all are going to completely fall in love with Lentille Photography, just like I did!

(dress was borrowed from the studio wardrobe – brand is Fillyboo)

Kyle, myself and Hayes headed to Stafford for our photoshoot Thursday morning, and goodness it was chaotic. It was our first outing with Hayes and he was SUPER fussy that morning. By the time we arrived he had peed through his diaper and through his clothes and I think I had to nurse him about a million times while we were there! Thank God Allison (the photographer) and
Bridgette (owner of Bespoken Beauty) were SO sweet and patient with us!!

The girls were so incredibly welcoming and sweet when we arrived and made us feel super comfortable.
One thing I LOVE about Lentille Photography is that it’s a full service studio.
You basically show up looking like hot garbage and Bridgette turns you into a glowing goddess with her hair & makeup skills and then Allison helps you choose the perfect outfit from her gorgeous wardrobe selection before she starts snapping photos.

Here are a few studio pictures. I seriously couldn’t get over how CUTE everything was!
This is the hair and makeup area.

Below is the “lounging room” where Kyle and Hayes hung out while I got my hair and makeup done!
On the other side of the room is the wardrobe. The best part?! She doesn’t just dress the ladies, she also provides shirts for husbands and swaddles, hats etc for your babes!

As a new mama,
not having to think of what to wear or worry about trying to get myself put together was AMAZING.

After I chose my dress it was time for hair & makeup!
I am always SUPER picky about getting my hair and makeup done but I’m not kidding when I say that Bridgette may just be the BEST in Houston, I felt absolutely stunning,
and that’s saying A LOT for being 4 days post partum!

For any hair or make up needs Bridgette is your girl!!!

Once hair & makeup was done it was time to start shooting!!
I can’t even begin to tell y’all how amazing Allison was with Hayes,
She is for real, the definition of a baby whisperer!
She actually used to be a labor and delivery nurse so it totally makes sense.
Here are a few pictures I took while she was doin’ her thing!!

I really can’t say enough good things about Lentille Photography, and HIGHLY suggest you book with her!
It was such a great experience overall and she even sent me two sneak peek photos the SAME day we did the photoshoot!

I’ll be sharing some of our amazing photos from the shoot with y’all next week as well as some other little things Allison does to make your experience with her easy and extra special!!

Happy Monday Babes!!!

My Top 5 Favorite Photo Editing Apps!

Happy Thursday guys!
I’ve been getting asked the same question on repeat lately! And that’s “How do you edit your photos?!” So instead of responding to everyone individually I figured I’d do a quick post on my favorite photo editing apps!
I’ve used a TON of photo editing apps throughout the years but I’ve been pretty loyal to these
4 apps for months now…

#1. Darkroom
I LOVE the filters in this app, that’s pretty much all I use it for. This app can actually do SO many amazing things but I haven’t taken the time to sit down and learn all of it’s capabilities.
When I first start editing my photos I’ll immediately go to Darkroom and throw my favorite filter on there. I think my favorite part is that you can adjust the strength of each filter! I’m not super big into the whole “cohesive Instagram feed look” but I do try to use a Darkroom filter on all of my photos so there’s somewhat of a similarity in each photo and everything flows nicely together!

#2. Snapseed
After I’ve chosen a filter I’ll head to Snapseed to “tune” the image. I’ll adjust the lighting, contrast, saturation, or just whatever I think the photo needs! This app also has “looks/filters” you can use, my most used are Portrait and Pop – However, most of the time I find that they’re a little too filtered for my liking so that’s why I like to go in and tune the image myself on this app!

#3. Retouch
This is a great and SUPER easy app if you have something in your photo that you need to remove.
For instance, if there’s an ugly telephone pole right behind you, you can head to the Retouch app, click “object removal” and highlight over what you want to remove and it does it for you! Have a stain on your shirt? Retouch will fix that for ya!

#4. Mendr
Every now and then the Retouch app just can’t do what I want, and that’s when I head to Mendr!
Mendr is kind of like the app of all apps. With Mendr, you send your photo into a professional editor and leave notes for them on what you want fixed/changed! They can literally do ANYTHING.
I took this selfie on our babymoon and had them remove the toilet seat in the background and also had them fix the shadow on my belly! Then I adjusted the lighting/colors how I wanted – but they can even do that for you if you’d like! See their amazing skills in the photo below.

Sometimes I just use one of those apps for a photo and sometimes I’ll use them all!
I know I said I would be sharing “my top 5” favorite photo editing apps with y’all so
I’m going to list a few more great ones below!

#5. PicTapGo
This app is also phenomenal and super easy to use, I think they have the largest variety of free filters and everything is adjustable as well – you can even put a filter on top of a filter if you want! I still use this one occasionally and it will forever be one of my favs!

#6. VSCO
This was my “go to” app for a while, before I discovered Darkroom. SO many people love and rave about this app, and it really is great!!

#7. Colorstory
This is also a great photo editing app! If you’re trying to give your Instagram feed a nice cohesive look when it comes to colors, this app is great for that!!

Hopefully this post answered all of your questions!
Keep on sending me suggestions on blog topic ideas, I love knowing what y’all want to see more of.

Tomorrow’s post is for my pregnant ladies – I’ll be sharing some of my fav places to shop for maternity activewear, So make sure you come say hi and check out all the cute things!

Good things to come..

Y’all, there has been SO much running through my mind the past few months.

So much stress, so much worry, so much wondering what people are going to think.

But after a lot of thought and prayer and hard conversations,
i’ve officially decided that I won’t be re signing my lease on my store.
The opportunity to have my storefront came at such a perfect time in my life,
having a store front for a year was EXACTLY what I needed last year.
It was such a positive experience and I have learned and grown SO much from it.
Although it was SO much fun dealing with customers face to face,
and meeting SO many incredible and sweet women,
Plaza just wasn’t the place for my business.
I’ll be leaving at the end of March.
I’ll be continuing to sell online, and I’ll be doing pop up shops around Texas
as frequently as possible!
AND I now offer FREE shipping on all US orders!

With all that being said, i’ve got some other exciting news!
If you follow me on instagram i’m sure you’ve already heard,
I’m now doing photography part time!!!
I have always loved taking photos of anything and everything.
I love capturing moments & making memories last forever.
If you live in the Houston area, or anywhere in Texas,
I would L-O-V-E to shoot you or your family!

Go ahead and click here to see some of my work & get pricing info.
Thanks for all the love & support y’all!
